Pakistan Salary Tax Guide

The calculator applies a slab table from a config file. Those figures are not marked gazette-verified. Confirm on fbr.gov.pk.

Pakistan taxes salaried individuals using progressive slabs: a fixed amount for the slice below, plus a rate on the excess in the current band. This site does not invent those numbers in the React UI. They live in a tax-year config file so they can be updated when FBR publishes a new year.

How the estimate is built

  1. You enter annual taxable salary (or monthly, which is annualised).
  2. The calculator finds the matching slab in the selected tax year.
  3. Tax = slab fixed amount + rate × (income − slab floor).
  4. Monthly figures are the annual tax divided by 12.

What this guide will not do

  • It will not paste a “current rate table” into this article as if it were a gazette. Rates change and blogs go stale.
  • It will not cover every credit, filer status or non-salary income.
  • It is not legal or tax advice.

Open the Pakistan Salary Tax Calculator, read the source note on the page, and compare the result with FBR’s own worksheet or a qualified adviser.

Frequently asked questions

Are the slabs official?+

They are transcribed from published Finance Act summaries into lib/data/pk-salary-tax.ts and are explicitly not marked gazette-verified. Confirm the First Schedule on FBR before relying on a number.
