How to Create a WhatsApp QR Code

AllinOne Editorial · Published 2026-09-16

Scanning opens a chat with that number. Include the country code, skip leading zeros, and treat a printed number like a public listing.

A WhatsApp chat QR is usually https://wa.me/15551234567 — country code, then the number, no plus sign, no leading zero. An optional ?text= query can pre-fill a message (URL-encoded).

Steps

  1. Open the WhatsApp QR Generator.
  2. Enter the country code and national number as people would dial internationally.
  3. Add a short message only if you want it pre-typed (keep it short; dense QR codes scan worse).
  4. Download after the scan check passes.

Anyone who can photograph the printout can message that number. Use a business line you are willing to publish.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an official WhatsApp product?+

No. It encodes a public wa.me URL the same way any QR generator would. WhatsApp’s own in-app QR is separate.
