About this tool
Crop keeps only the rectangle you draw on the preview. The result is exported as PNG so the cut is not JPEG-compressed again.

Formula and methodology
Pointer position is mapped from the displayed image to natural pixels. The canvas then copies that integer rectangle from the source.
Worked example
A 1920×1080 screenshot cropped to a 1:1 square from the centre becomes a 1080×1080 PNG.
